With the onset of the New Vedic calendar, Tirtha Yatra turned 4 on the auspicious day of Sri Ramanavami 2019, April 14, 2019. The grand celebrations took place in the presence of 800 devotees in Sri Venugopala Krishna Temple, Malleswaram, Bengaluru.
Sri Ramanavami is the day when Tirtha Yatra began its operations in 2015. From a humble beginning of 10 tours in a year to 108 tours in a year, Tirtha Yatra has soared heights in just 4 years taking 3000+ yatris to their dream pilgrimage.
As part of its 4th year anniversary celebrations, Tirtha Yatra organized Sri Sita Rama Kalyanotsava – the divine marriage of Lord Rama and Sita Devi on the auspicious day of Sri Ramanavami. The festival began with the pallaki utsava with a welcome to Lord Ramachandra to the marriage arena, followed by the pravachana on Sri Rama-lila by Bharath Bhattar, Kalyanotsava, Guest Felicitation and Anna Dana to every devotee.
Sita Rama Kalyanotsava
A grand Sita Rama Kalyanotsava was conducted to celebrate the event. Sankalpa and archana was performed for every devotee who visited to attend the celestial wedding. As the Kalyanotsava progressed, a simple commentary on every ritual was narrated to make devotees understand the significance of the rituals. At the end of the Kalyanotsava devotees were served Tirtha and shatari.
Launching new Yatras
During the event, Sri Sadagopan Sampath, the GPA of Ahobilam Mutt along with Sri Babu Bhattar and Sri Pattabi Bhattar – the chief priests of Venugopala Swamy Temple and Narasimha Temple in Malleswaram, Bengaluru, launched two new yatras – Namami Gange and 70+ Yatras and Vraja Mandala Guidebook.
Namami Gange Tour is an experiential tour trailing the journey of Mother Ganga from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar. It is first of its kind tour in India giving you an enthralling experience of the lifeline of India.
70+ Yatras is a tour for the elder citizens of our society above the age of 70 years. Launched for the first time in India, it concentrates on giving an unforgettable experience to the Yatris of their dream holy destination in India.
Vraja Mandala Parikrama Guidebook is a comprehensive guide book documenting the places of Krishna’s lila. For the first time such massive attempt has been made to document each and every place related to Krishna’s Vraja lila in the Vraja Mandala.
Annadana Seva
Sumptuous meal prasadam was served to every devotee comprising of bisi bele bath, sweet pongal, curd rice and puliyogre. Around 800 devotees honoured the prasadam of the Lord. A great thanks to the Annadana sponsors who came forward to donate for this noble purpose of serving prasadam to the devotees.
