With the recent Dwarka Yatra in February, Tirtha Yatra completed first ‘Sri Krishna Charitra Yatra’ successfully. Attended by thirty devotees, this Yatra began at Mathura and concluded at Bhalka Tirtha in Prabhas.
Sri Krishna Charitra Yatra is a themed tour – first of its kind in India. It is crafted by the team of Tirtha Yatra and is a blend of pilgrimage and a cultural tour of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat. It covers the lila-sthalas connected to the lilas of Lord Krishna from Mathura to Dwarka. Lord Krishna performed His lilas on this planet for 125 years. Around 300 places including temples, kundas (sacred lakes), imprints of Krishna’s body parts, mountains, rivers, etc stand to testify His lilas. These memorable places give us an opportunity to indulge ourselves into the pages of the sacred tenth canto of Bhagavata-purana.
This pilgrimage tour was conducted for 15 days and was broken into two parts – November 2015 and February 2016. Our primary objective was to cover maximum places at a comfortable speed keeping in mind the utmost comfort of our yatris. We began our journey in Mathura – the birthplace of Lord Krishna and concluded in Bhalka Tirtha in Prabhas Pattana, the last place of Lord Krishna’s pastimes on this planet. In between our visit included the detailed tours of places like Vrindavana, Nanda gaon, Barsana, Govardhana, the twelve forests of Vraja, the villages of Krishna’s gopi friends, Dakor, Dwarka, Bet Dwarka, Mula Dwarka, Sudamapuri, Ranavav and Madhavpur. During the Yatra, yatris were given an experience of the local cuisine, local transport, shopping, a warm meeting with the natives and much more.
