The year 2016 began with the blessings of Lord Narasimha. On January 23 and 24, Tirtha Yatra organized its second yatra to Ahobilam in Andhra Pradesh. Ahobilam is a place where Lord Vishnu took the Narasimha Avatara to protect his devotee Prahlada. There are nine temples of Lord Narasimha – all located in the midst of the forest. These temples house the swayambhu Deities of Lord Narasimha. The darshan involves an unforgettable trek on the river bed of Bhavanashini River, and a refreshing walk in the Nallamalla forest.
Forty devotees from Bengaluru and Chennai were part of this yatra including the senior citizens and the students. Our team went a step forward to help the senior citizens by hand holding them on the trek to Jwala Narasimha temple. Bhajans, kirtans and the philosophical discourse were part of the yatra. One of the special attractions was prasadam. A traditional and authentic Andhra Pradesh cuisine was served to the yatris. Our yatra concluded with the darshan of Sri Kadiri Narasimha in Kadiri while returning.
