Tirtha Yatra organized a yatra to Jagannath Puri during the globally famed Ratha Yatra festival – the largest religious gathering on the planet. Twelve yatris from Bengaluru, Chennai and Mysuru joined this spiritually enlightening yatra and returned home super satisfied by the darshan of Lord Jagannath.
Every year during the Indian month of Ashada, Lord Jagannath along with Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Sudarshana steal away millions of hearts, riding on Their divine chariots on the grand road of Puri. This festival is called as Ratha Yatra. The festival draws the largest religious gathering on the planet. The festivities of the Ratha Yatra last for almost fifteen days culminating in the grand Niladri Bije event.
This year 2019, Tirtha Yatra organized its maiden Jagannath Puri Ratha Yatra tour. Twelve yatris participated in this divine tour for witnessing the grandest festival. The purpose of this tour was to relish the Ratha Yatra festival along with its many colourful festivities and ultimately receive the blessings of Lord Jagannath. A five-day soulful tour focussed just on Lord Jagannath.
During the tour, yatris had Navayauvana darshana of Lord Jagannath, followed by the Netro Utsava festival of the Deities. On the subsequent days yatris cleaned the Gundicha Temple of Lord Jagannath, experienced the Pahandi Vijaya Seva of Lord Jagannath and pulled the chariot of Their Lordships. The darshan in the Gundicha Temple was also organized on the last day of the tour, culminating in the grand maha-prasadam of Lord Jagannath. This yatra was led by Sri Agrani Krishna Dasa, the founder-CEO of Tirtha Yatra, who every day narrated various lilas of Lord Jagannath connected to the Ratha Yatra and thus making this yatra much more divine.
The spiritual experience of the Yatris
“Thank you for giving us a nice darshanam of Lord Jagannath and giving us His maha-prasada. It was an icing on the cake, when you took us all inside the Gundicha Temple. When we saw the Deity from Garuda Stambha, we were satisfied, then we went near the barricade we were much more satisfied, then when you took us inside the garbha griha for darshan, we all were thrilled. And when we saw Madana-mohana we were filled with ananda and it was a different feeling altogether. When you took us further inside the garbha-griha we were in the seventh world. Last but not the least, when we did three pradakshinas of Lord Jagannath, no punar janma for us. What else can we long for? We were satisfied to the fullest. Thanks a ton, to Tirtha Yatra for making our dreams come true. Still I am pinching and wondering if really go for Jagannath’s Ratha Yatra or it was a dream unfolding. Looking forward for many more memorable yatras with Tirtha Yatra.” Bhanumati Ravindran, Chennai
“Thank you Tirtha Yatra for such a wonderful Jagannath Puri Ratha Yatra Tour. We had a fulfilling darshan of all the events of Ratha Yatra. My heartfelt thanks to Agrani Krishna Dasa for the sthala puranas and Lord Jagannath’s divine lilas, Radharamana Dasa’s and Nitin’s arrangement of the Yatra. The darshan of the Lord in Garbha Gudi and taking pradakshina of the Lord in the Garbha Gudi was the ultimate unasked for ‘ichha’ which Lord Jagannath and the co-ordinations of Tirtha Yatra team fulfilled.” Shanti, Mysuru
“Sharing of knowledge by Agrani Krishna Dasa and Anand Santhanam was a wonderful lila-dhyana. The Gundicha-darshana was far more than one’s expectations. The spiritual gifts and sharing the pictures of the Yatra was also great. Getting the maha-prasadam of Jagannath was wonderful.” Reeta, Bengaluru
“The Yatra was an excellent spiritual experience. All the logistics were handled seamlessly. The darshan of Lord Jagannath especially during the crowded time of Ratha Yatra was well organized by Tirtha Yatra team. The knowledge provided by the time were quite relevant and authentic. On the whole it was a wholesome yatra.” Ravichandran R, Chennai
