After a long lockdown and curfew of 6 months, Tirtha Yatra rebooted with a spiritually uplifting group pilgrimage to Akkihebbalu. 15 yatris from Bengaluru were part of this 1 day weekend tour. The tour was conducted observing the Covid-19 measures strictly.

Akkihebbalu is enroute KR Pet. This serene temple is located amidst the paddy fields, on the banks of River Hemavati. The peaceful surroundings of this temple make it a perfect place for experiencing divinity and relaxing oneself. It is also known as the Gautama Kshetra and houses one of the most beautiful vigrahas of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha. This weekend tour was attended by 15 yatris from Bengaluru who had an amazing experience. Sri Sowmya Keshava Temple in Nagamangala and Sri Lakshmi Narayana Temple in Hosaholalu were also part of the itinerary.
As part of the Covid-19 measures only off-beat temples were covered. In the beginning of the yatra, the body temperatures of yatris were checked. The bus was disinfected completely thrice. Wearing the mask all the time, was compulsory during the yatra. Social distancing was encouraged in the temple as well as while seated in the bus. Hands of yatris were regularly sanitized. Not just that the medical history of every participant for last one month was recorded as an added safety precaution.
